“A Childbirth and Childcare Lump-Sum Grant” is paid when an insured person gives birth. “A Dependents' Childbirth and Childcare Lump-Sum Grant” is paid when a dependent family member gives birth. Don't forget to add the newborn as a dependent in these cases.

Request a Childbirth and Childcare Lump-Sum Grant
When using the system of direct payment of Childbirth and Childcare Lump-sum Grant to medical institutions
Please exchange an agreement document for using "the System of direct payment of Childbirth and Childcare Lump-sum Grant" to medical institution at the medical institution where you plan to give birth.
Since the health insurance association pays the amount equivalent to the lump sum directly to the medical institution, there is no need to go through the procedure with the health insurance association.
No additional billing procedure is required. The health insurance assotiation will confirm the contents at the request of the medical institution and pay through the company's salary.
- * Retired employees will be paid directly to their personal account. In case we need to confirm your account, you will receive an "Account Transfer Application Form" from the Health Insurance Association, be sure to return it.
- * If the request from the medical institution to the health insurance association is delayed, the payment may be delayed.
When using the system of receipt on your behalf
When it has become within 2 months before the expected date of giving birth, please apply to the health insurance association as follows.
If you decide to give birth at a medical institution other than the receiving agent after application, please contact the health insurance association.

If you paid the entire amount of childbirth expenses to the medical care institution
Submit the following application to the Health Insurance Society if you have not used the system of direct payment of Childbirth and Childcare Lump-sum Grant to medical institutions or the system of receipt of the Childbirth and Childcare Lump-sum Grant directly by the medical institutions on your behalf or you have given birth overseas.

Add the child
After the child is born, take the necessary steps to add him or her as a dependent.
